End of the Year Goals

The end of the year is approaching. We have three solid months left. There is still so much to do. For me, I have some goals that need to be accomplished before the year is over. Here are a few:

Goal #1: Begin My Professional Transition

I have to take the CASA. I have a Transition to Teaching program that I am trying to get into at the Indiana Wesleyan University and I would start in March. So I have to take the CASA, which are the 3 tests I need to pass in order to be accepted into the program. I plan on taking them in November. So wish me luck. 🙂

Goal #2: Get Financially Stable

I know that this will go into the new year of 2017, but my husband and I are getting a head start. There are a lot of things that we have talked about as far as getting our finances back together and credit scores back up. I had a setback with finances after I had my son and that was back in March. We are still playing catch up and I know when 2017 comes in, we will be in a better place.

Goal #3: Continue to be Happy and Stress Free

This is a hard one, especially with the goals listed above. However, I have to keep my happiness intact and remain stress free. Having Ulcerative Colitis, being stress free is something that I HAVE to do or I will experience a flare-up. That is never good. I had my last flare-up in July and I have been better since mid-September. I let my current job and looking for new jobs stress me out. No job or anything is worth me stressing, especially if it irritate my condition. I had to realize that and figure that out the hard way.

That is when I figured out that I wanted to switch career paths and go into the Transition to Teaching program. My current field (Fitness Management and Personal Training – Kinesiology) is not going to make me happy forever, full-time that is. I would not mind doing it part-time for extra money. My long-term goal deep down has always been for me to be a school guidance counselor. That is what I want to do. I have always wanted to work with youth and be an example for them. I am hoping that I will be able to fulfill my dream. Starting off with teaching, I believe this is the way to go and I am very excited to start this journey.
