I’ve been in New York for a few weeks now and had been contemplating on where to go to brunch. I heard so many great things about brunch in Harlem so I wanted to check it out. My classmates recommended Harlem Tavern. We went around noon on a Saturday and the environment was awesome! There was an outside patio with a Jazz band playing. The doors were open from the indoor seating area so everyone could enjoy the breeze and the wonderful music. We sat down on the inside, close to the Jazz band, because it was a hot day and we wanted to enjoy the music, food and be comfortable!

The brunch special consisted of about 15 items for $15. The meal came with a drink, your choice between: soda, tea, coffee, bloody mary, mimosa and beer. What a great deal! I had to chose a healthy meal of course. I picked a seafood omelet with a summer salad. The omelet was made of egg whites with lobster, shrimp, bell peppers and onions. The summer salad was made of arugula with oranges, strawberries, blueberries and toasted almonds. The meal was satisfying and prepared well! I enjoyed every bite!

The Jazz band was a nice touch to brunch. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a light, healthy brunch, great music and an inviting atmosphere at an affordable price near Manhattan.
